On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women worldwide. The theme for this year resonates deeply: “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress.” It’s a powerful call to action, urging us to recognize and support the invaluable contributions of women across all spheres of life. Speaking of incredible contributions, the fantastic women at our DC always deliver their best! Their commitment to accuracy is serious business – it’s their top KPI. Achieving an impressive 99.953% picking accuracy rate, they excel with RF scanners, a committed inventory reconciliation team, and a robust warehouse training program. These talented women ensure that the right items are consistently spot-on. Today, we celebrate not only the achievements of women globally but also the incredible impact they make in every aspect of our lives, including the stellar performance of the women at our distribution center.

Since joining the EBH family in July 2019, I’ve happily embraced my role as DC Administrative Supervisor. The constant changes and dynamic nature of the job keep me on my toes, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Overcoming challenges is what makes the day-to-day work exciting in this fast-paced environment. Recently, I wrapped up a logistics course and proudly earned my Professional Logistician (P.Log) designation in November 2023. I thrive in the unpredictable world of logistics, where problem-solving is an everyday adventure. In the realm of community, my heart belongs to Mackie’s Place, where I’ve witnessed the transformative power of community support. Starting with delivering food hampers in 2015, I’ve seen it evolve into an inspiring youth social house. Beyond the EBH hustle, I am all about quality time with family and friends. I can make the most of any situation, especially when fueled by coffee. My hobbies include nature walks, church, Starbucks expeditions, trying local cafes, and managing my soccer mom duties. Truthfully, I’m not entirely sure how I found my way here, but I’m grateful I did, and being featured on International Women’s Day is a genuine honour. Here’s to celebrating the amazing and diverse women shaping our company.

I have proudly worked for E.B. Horsman & Son for 11 years. I started in the Surrey Distribution Center picking branch orders & advanced to a supervisory role. A position for a Vendor Managed Inventory & Branch Support person became available six years ago & it’s been my dream job ever since.I am responsible for visiting our lower mainland VMI Customers to maintain inventory and retain positive in-person relationships with customers. Each day has its uniqueness, part of why I love the job. I enjoy this role because I get to interact with the customers, sales staff, the Distribution Center, CSMs, and branch warehouse staff. I believe it is important to listen to the customer first and provide an excellent service with superior products & the rest will follow. Inventory practices & fixing problems are my quirky passions; I like to think of them as organized chaos. I have a Red Seal Certificate in Parts & Warehousing along with a Class 1-6 Driver’s License, Level 3 First Aid (expired), Amateur Radio Operator Certificate (VA7VMI), Master Canine Trainer, and I am currently enrolled at BCIT, studying Project Management.
Engaging in competitive training with my canine companions is a passion of mine, and I’m thrilled to welcome a new prospect into our household. Over the past 15 years or more, my focus has been on Tracking, Obedience, Protection, and Conformation. Looking ahead, I aspire to explore additional pursuits such as Carting, Agility, and various other avenues in the future. I am currently serving as a volunteer on the Board of Directors for Peace Arch Manor, a part of the Senior Citizen Housing Society. This facility provides senior residents with independent living, and a percentage of the apartments receive subsidies. Additionally, I dedicate my time each year to volunteering with the Langley Good Times Cruise-In Society, where I assist in selling In-N-Out Burger tickets. This involves managing $15,000 in ticket sales and numerous T-shirt transactions within a few hours – it’s truly an eventful day! All net proceeds from this effort contribute to local charities, primarily supporting the Langley Community Support Group’s Hope After Stroke, Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association, and the Starfish Backpack programs of both the Aldergrove and Langley Rotary Clubs.
I believe anything we invest in positive and constructive time benefits an individual & in turn, the organization. Taking on new challenges is rewarding & empowering, plus you never know where it might lead you on this big old adventure called Life.
We are lucky to have such incredible women as a part of E.B. Horsman & Son. International Women’s Day is about sharing the progress of gender equality; we are proud to say that our team has grown and flourished with more women working in our company than ever!
