Growing Together with E.B. Horsman & Son

Since 1900 E.B. Horsman & Son (EBH) has been a thriving independently owned and operated Western Canadian company, in large part due to our team of fantastic people. In 2020, as part of our long-term strategy to continue as the “electrical, industrial automation and process instrumentation distributor of choice,” EBH Launched EMPOWER, our Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Our EMPOWER Program means exactly what it sounds like, giving people who work for the company the opportunity to own a piece of the company. Employees who participate in this program will have a financial stake in the company, sharing the risks and rewards associated with long-term enterprise value creation.

EMPOWER will reinforce our unique ownership culture, helping EBH outperform the market in areas like customer experience, higher operational productivity, workforce diversity, financial performance, and year-over-year growth rates. Our Employee Share Ownership Plan supports E.B. Horsman & Son’s vision for the future by empowering an ownership mindset within our most valuable asset – our employees.

“Our Employee Share Ownership Program, EMPOWER, is the natural evolution of our organizational culture,” said Tim Horsman, President and CEO of E.B. Horsman & Son. “We have always benefited from encouraging an ownership mindset with our employees, so it only made sense that we have an ESOP that engages our team in an ownership program that rewards long-term enterprise value creation. Our team’s engagement in a customer-first attitude, a bias for action, aversion to bureaucracy and long-term vision has benefited us for five (5) generations – and EMPOWER truly reinforces those values.”

At EBH, we want our employees to grow with us – and our employee share ownership plan helps us do just that!
